What's Up?!

DO YOU KNOW THAT YOUR LOVE IS THE SWEETEST SIN?
Archie's showcase @ Iluma Shopping Centre

I'd wanted to meet Francisca to go see David Archuleta at Iluma, but the earliest she could make it was 6 (which was an hour before the show). So eventually, I decided to go down earlier myself. As I arrived at the mall, I saw that there were already 2 long queues outside the mall. I decided to go into the mall to check it out, and as it turns out, those queues were for those who (had the CD) and were going for the autograph session so I join the 2nd queue.

After waiting for about 45 minutes, they finally let us into the mall. As I stepped into the building, I was so overwhelmed by the atmosphere I was shaking. I've heard that people had been at the mall since the day before and earlier on in the day. Wow! I never knew that David had that big of a fan base here. That was incredible to see. So I finally got into the barricaded area for those who were going for the autograph session. This was pretty much how far from the stage I was (well, not until they made everyone squeeze and I got a little further up).

As you probably saw from the picture in the last post, there was massive crowd! In fact, the mall was packed right up to the 4th floor!

To my left...

More people upstairs...

Finally, about 20 minutes past 7 David arrives and starts off with Touch My Hand. He sang 4 songs in total, which also included A Little Too Not Over You, A Thousand Miles his hit single, Crush.

The crowd was roaring with cheers while he sang. I was practically looking up the entire time, trying to record the videos and hardly watched David (except for a few glimpses in between). By the end of his short performance, boy were my neck and arms aching!

David then went off for a short break, which was proceeded by the autograph session. No photography/videography was allowed during the autograph. I was trying to get shots of David while in the queue, before I got to the stage to meet him.

This was as close a shot as I got.

The autograph session was a very quick one. Basically, once you got up the stage a handler takes your poster and hands it to another handler who then hands it to David. In the meantime, they stop you from moving ahead until the person before you has left. So by the time you reached the table, it was pretty much hi and bye. In the meantime, while I was in the queue, I was thinking of what I could say that would be short and sweet.

Finally, it is my turn to meet David. I leaned in and said, 'Hi David. I love your smile!'. To which he replied, 'Aww, thanks' then flashing a big wide smile. Just as I was standing there admiring his beautiful smile, the handler has her arm over my back and directs me off the stage. Oh, bummer. Well, that smile more than made up for anything else :)

I left the venue a hot sweaty mess, but it sure was one enjoyable night!
