Yesterday morning, I logged on to Myspace to see Travis Garland's blog that was titled 'michael, RIP'. For some reason, my first inclination wasn't to read it, but to go and google 'Michael Jackson dead?'. I read one of the news articles and thought maybe it was just a hoax, maybe it was just someone trying to make up a story. So then, the next thing I thought of was to log on to Twitter because if it was for real then everyone would be talking about it on there. Indeed, the minute I logged on, 'RIP Michael Jackson' was all over the place. It was then it dawned upon me that yes, the King of Pop has passed away.

I may not be a huge fan of Michael Jackson's, but I definitely remember the days my dad would bring my brother and I to go pick my mum from work. We would listen to this one CD my dad had, that had some of MJ's songs and always sang along to them.

The music world has indeed lost a great legend - one who has been an inspiration to so many and paved the way for the music and musicians of today. Even though he is gone, his music lives on...
